From the moment that I met Moira, which was the day of her session actually, I could tell she had an amazing personality to go with her beautiful smile!! That makes my job SUPER easy! She came straight from having her hair and makeup done with Monica at Locks+Lashes. Moira is a natural beauty as is and Monica played with that by giving her a subtle yet gorgeous natural look!
Moira was so laid back and easy to work with, but had one specific request for her images: she wanted some done in her Menomonee Falls High School swimming pool, because she being part of the Menomonee Falls Swim Club is a huge part of her life! Up until that day, I had never taken any sort of images like the ones you will see below! I suggested we do it at the end of her session, so we did! But first, let me tell you about the other two gorgeous locations, before you go check the swimming photos out…
I always get a little nervous when I am going to a new location that I haven’t seen before, but oh my goodness, The Barn at Pioneer Acres did NOT disappoint!! Wow is that place a photographer’s dream!!! I especially love how everything is set up, the lighting seems to hit all of the antique trucks, bridges and barns at the perfect time near sunset. I can’t even imagine a wedding here… beautiful! Moira was such a trooper with all of my crazy poses and ideas. I absolutely love the ones in the corn!
After we left The Barn at Pioneer Acres, we headed to another new location to me… Lannon Sunflower Farm! This is another really cool place that everyone MUST go check out!! I actually loved it so much, I ended up back here 2 days later for another senior session!! We didn’t get a chance to explore too far back because the sun was rapidly setting, but I later found out that they do also have a butterfly garden and hemp/CBD field!
We went to the high school to finish off our session at the pool. I was pretty nervous that I wouldn’t nail these shots for Moira, but I did my best and used some lighting techniques I’ve learned over the years to create some different looks. We decided that we liked the pool lighting too, as a more natural, less dramatic look, for some of the photos. I think they turned out pretty awesome!
Thank you so much Moira, and all of the people and places that made this session so much fun!
